Back you go | Go forward, move ahead

Firstly, I gotta apologize to Senior Detective Rice again. I was on the phone with her while headed to Goodyear HQ and saw Wingfoot Two fly by. At least? I had the phone on speaker. I, uh, just automatically yell, as that's what blimpologists do! :) They sort of skirted HQ and went towards the base. Well you know what? I'm gonna go too! Seeing her close up and not being able to get a photo---blimp was turning---I've had a lot stress, dammit, I need a blimp fix!!

They have an observation area and I knew my base blimpologist was there. They had been letting me know she was out, but he thought they were staying by the base. When he sent the message they were going towards HQ is when I left my house. There was another fellow blimpologist there too. There are MANY blimpologists!!

Ah, there she is!!! BLIMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though WF2 is made the same as WF1, this one is louder. YEAH!!! I'll be able to hear her from further away than WF1!!!

Coming in for the day.

The Goodyear Blimp is MORE than OK!! :D

Tethered to the pole (not proper terms), the blimp can be blown 360 around it, if the winds are strong enough. It can/will even lift up in strong storms.

The Goodyear Blimp has a Blimpguard with her at all times. They monitor levels within the blimp and of course protect her from hooligans who do not respect the blimp!

Blimpologists are NOT Close Encounters obsessed! None that have been surveyed have ever made a Goodyear Blimp out of mashed potatoes!! Mashed potatoes sound pretty good around now. Today was my first, but not last, trip to the Goodyear Blimp base!!!!!!!!! I'm surprised I left! I gotta have bottles of water on me so I don't get so dehydrated----but it was WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!

Bestest day of 2016 so far!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!! Today has made me happy!!

Lucky for you, your navigator knows how to read maps. It's genetic in my family to have the mapping gene.

Is the a chain link fence around the blimp base? Sure looked like it from the overhead maps. I was wondering if you'd ever leave your beloved blimp after you finally got there!
Zoom, zoom, zoom!

VERY lucky my navigator can read maps, THANK YOU!!!! I have now studied google maps and the 'back way' would be to have continued going down Sieberling to a road I already forget ;) then 224, but take the Waterloo Rd exit from 224 (224 & Waterloo are the SAME road for awhile, then 224 continues as a highway). Take Waterloo to 43 and viola! Will memorize these routes!! BLIMP PATROL!!!!!!!!

Yes, there's a chain link fence with razor wire--must protect the blimp!!! I think it's like 10+ feet tall. When the observation area is open, that just has a 4' chain link fence---no razor wire---so you can clearly view her!

Surprising myself, yes, I did leave. I think if I had water on me I would have stayed longer :D

Zooming blimp patrol!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember, Blimp Security is photographing you. Do not leap the fence! ;-)

I wanna hug it and squeeze it ...
