fa la la la la fuck it all....

the one bad thing about kenalog is it fuckers with my sleep for a bit....couldn't get to sleep last night then woke early today.....of course my doctor would say the most important bad thing is that is affects bone density but fuck that!!! i have senile osteoporosis, who needs bone density??? i'll be damned if i ever give up kenalog shots.....the only thing that works for my allergies....well, i WOULD give it up if science could make something that works on my allergies like kenalog.....let's fix allergies peoples!!!

maybe i should start one of those ribbon campaigns? yeah, it could be a ribbon made out of a kleenex....allergy awareness....i bet there IS already a ribbon campaign for allergy awareness and i am seriously too scared to google that lest it really exist cuz i'd be like 'dude, the world is madder that i already thought'.....cuz we all know those ribbons solve all the problems of diseases....oh wait, that's right, it's for 'awareness' but that does what? uh huh, you're 'aware' of it....and????? that really does jack shit....

cynical today? not different from any other day!! sometimes, usually, i don't say these things.....but why the fuck not?? fuck it, i don't care....

have sooooooooo much to do.....and yes, edward is off work today....obviously he's going to walmart today....he might call hp for his second set up call and nope, he could even offer me money, not participating.....done done done DONE.......i'm still pissed.....3 fucking days lost due to that fuckery....

something has to be done by next wednesday, then something else thursday.....neither is even half done and both are VERY time consuming.....still have some cards to write out to mail.....have some convention duties to do....and yeah, things around the house....

got to bed so late i didn't try out my heated throw but the real feel is suppose to be NINE tonight, so i'm washing my sheets today and putting that out on the bed after i change my bed.....

i HAD had some xmas spirit, had my video playlist of favorite xmas songs, then yeah, edward got that laptop......there went that.....bang zoom out the window, down the street, out of the city, the state, the country, the universe.....to the moon....

i shall try again today.....

If you already have osteoporosis, that's another good reason to avoid animal protein; the link I've enclosed tries to explain why animal protein actually causes—and therefore exacerbates—osteoporosis.

Your doctors didn't tell you this because they didn't know; med students are only required to take a few credit hours of nutrition. So surprising though it may seem, you can actually retain bone density with a vegan diet.

My dr. is a DO so I think she got more nutrition training than a MD? Her MAIN concern about my nutrition is that I GAIN WEIGHT. Stopping dairy made me lose the 10#s I had gained. I'm under weight and topomax makes it hard to gain weight, plus I have high metabolism.

I had a perfect storm for ending up with senile osteoporosis. Lactose intolerant--milk always made me nauseous; malnourished as a child; small frame; low weight; LOTS of steroids for 20+ years and continuing; and a total hysterectomy in 2003.

When I was in there the other day I told her I was mostly eating vegan and she said that was fine, just to ensure I was eating enough foods with natural calcium (I have to take daily supplements too, in addition to the twice yearly prolia injections I get) and to GAIN WEIGHT!!! I'm not a fan of junk food really. Junk food for me is carrots with lime juice and chili powder. She told me to try to bake sweets at least once a week, as I will gobble them up quickly when I make them. That's a GOOD doctor order :) Made half a recipe of lime meltaways the other day with the earth balance sticks and they are fantastic in baking!

Are you allergic to nuts? Ounce for ounce, nuts are a calorific—and nutritious—food. It only takes one brazil nut to give you a day's worth of your selenium requirement—and unfortunately, it's easy to overload on selenium, which can be toxic in large quantities. So I eat exactly one Brazil nut a day.

Peanut butter is great to add to a smoothie—also avocado, and you should be eating a whole avocado a day anyway, to get the "good fats."

Dairy causes osteoporosis—best known as "dowager's hump"; don't let anyone tell you different.

nope, no nut allergies!!! they're expensive though....i do have a jar of natural PB in the fridge though.....i dislike cashews---i dunno why, i don't like their taste.....i LOVE almonds....AND brazil nuts!!! i know brazil nuts are good to have one a day during the winter to help wtih selenium levels.....

i have no idea what i'd do with 1/2 an avocado!! i could eat a lime a day! or 2 or 3 of them :) LOVE LOVE LOVE limes!!!

i gotta go to the store tomorrow as i saw i'm almost out of nutritional yeast and i'm out of black beans....i'll look to see if the health food store has bulk nuts at a decent price....

a variety of things can affect bone density.....not just lack of dairy....and dairy is so filled with antibiotics, fillers, etc.....

Repeat: Lack of dairy is not what causes osteoporosis!

Milk in the diet is a leading cause of bone brittleness—although calcium is more bio-available in dark green leafy vegetables like kale and broccoli than from dairy.

And regarding your last sentence: even organic dairy is full of hormones and is no bargain.

well milk made me threw up when i drank it.....i bet even organic milk would do the same!! haven't drank milke in a couple dozen years!!!! now soy milk? well yeah!!! :)

my doctor DID want to ensure i was eating foods with calcium.....and that is a valid concern......i just canNOT take the supplements every day and get the twice a year injections.....

i do recall reading that, years ago i dunno where, about the protein....

Yes, there ARE allergy awareness ribbons. I'm tempted to get the teal food allergy ribbon, which is also the ovarian cancer color.too.

Allergies suck all the way around!!
